It is with great pleasure and great grattitude that I announce the impending publication of my first full-length collection, American Amen. The manuscript has won the 2009 Orphic Prize from Dream Horse Press and will be available in late 2010.
I know that the blog has turned into a bit of a bragging-post, but I want to take a moment to thank the readers, if there are any of you still lurking out there. All of you fellow poets have been hugely important to me over the last (almost) 5 years; reading your posts on prosody, journal acceptances, MFA and PhD applications, family and friend drama, po-biz, drinking games, blurbs, writing slumps, writing highs, and everything in-between has been wonderful. I might keep this blog going, but I'm also thinking of moving to another format, one I haven't yet exactly nailed down yet. Whatever happens to my insanely small corner of cyberspace, I guarantee that I won't be leaving as a reader even if I do leave as a writer. So thank you to all of you who have sent well-wishes and congratulatory remarks via Facebook, email, text, and phone. You're all the best!
Back soon!
