Meet the two Sandhill Cranes that came up behind me as I was fishing at a road side lake. They scared me badly, then crossed the street and continued their jaunt. They walk like dinosaurs (if I knew what dinosaurs walked like). Biggest damn birds I've ever encountered in the wild.

Rilke sleeps like this routinely. She's a goofball. I know we're bad people, but there's just no room in bed for her so she sleeps in a kennel. She loves it though... her pillow is her best buddy (well, besides me anyway).

I caught this crappie on the Kalamazoo River today. I love catching crappie... it had been years since I caught one. Also caught a couple little smallmouth bass. Would fish all day everyday if it were cost-effective, socially acceptable, and actually worth a damn thing.

This is what I've been doing the last few days... putting the nursery together. Here's Baby McDowell's crib!

Has anyone heard of, or know anything of, Logan House Press? They have a contest coming up, but I don't know much about them. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

My girls cuddled up in the last remaining sunlight from the west this evening. It looked so cozy I almost plopped down with them! It was one of the rare times where they were that close to each other and not fighting. And look at how Bella's looking back at me taking the picture! Awww.
